Yellow-green Vireo

Vireo flavoviridis

Tom Jenner
This species is unusual in being a summer resident in the region. In places they can be very common, which is why it surprised me to find that I had seen them in only a few localities. My only sightings in Honduras have been from La Botija (the drier sections) and Copan. My only sightings in Guatemala have been from Tikal and my only sightings in El Salvador have been at El Imposible and at a couple of localities in the hills near to Cerro Verde, though not in the park itself. All of these localities have fairly dry forest and most of the sightings have been in scrubby edge and second growth. Near Cerro Verde we also netted some in a Coffee plantation.
