| This species is found throughout
the highlands of northern Central America. I think of this species
as being mostly found in cloud forest and edge, though Howell
and Webb include a number of other habitats including pine-oak,
desert grasslands and open farmland. They tend to be fairly
common, though rarely the commonest hummingbird in the areas
where they are found. I have seen them in El Salvador at El
Pital, La Montañona and at Los Andes on Santa Ana Volcano.
In Guatemala, I have seen them at Finca Chicharos, Fuentes Georginas,
Volcan Agua and Volcan Atitlan. In Honduras, I have seen them
at La Botija, La Tigra and Guisayote. |
