This is one of the most commonly
encountered hirundines in northern Central America. They are
found throughout the region, though are absent from the southern
highlands of Guatemala and Honduras. They are particularly common
in towns and cities, where they often form large roosts. According
to Howell and Webb, the birds in northern Guatemala are only
summer visitors and winter further south.
